Comment by Woolie Wool: I disagree with the "original" part. Heretic's weapons are JUST LIKE Doom's (with one major exception):
Staff = Fist
Gauntlets = Chainsaw
Elvenwand = Pistol
Crossbow = Shotgun
Dragon's Claw = Chaingun
Hellstaff = Plasma Rifle
Phoenix Rod = Rocket Launcher
Firemace = the only original weapon in Heretic

In fact, Heretic itself is just like Doom, only medieval.
