Requires ZDoom Community Build
The Weapons Resource WAD(or WRW) is the weapon equivalent of the Monster Resource WAD; it is a collection of new DECORATE weapons created by members of the ZDoom community for editors to use in their own wads. The project, originally spearheaded by HobbsTiger1, is currently led by DomRem, who also acts as a judge of submitted weapons along with cutmanmike and TheDarkArchon.
Progress
The WRW is still in progress. There is no definite final release date, and anybody who would like to submit a weapon may. So if you feel that your own custom weapon is good enough to be added, or you would just like to view the thread, go here, where rules and other information are listed.
If you would like to create a weapon, but don't know how, take a look at ChaosCentral's guide. An expanded version can be found here.
Remember, the WRW is a resource wad, so you are allowed to use the weapons in your own WADs in any way you want, as long as you include the appropriate credits.
Version 1.5a of the WRW was released on September 11, 2005.

Power Levels
The weapons included in the Weapons Resource Wad are split up into a "power level" system, shown below:
- Power Level 1: Starting weapon quality. About on par with the Pistol or Fist.
- Power Level 2: Secondary weapons, such as the Shotgun or Chainsaw.
- Power Level 3: Heavier weapons like the Chaingun or Plasma Rifle.
- Power Level 4: Rocket Launchers or other powerful weapons.
- Power Level 5: Ultimate Weapon caliber. All your Wraithverges, BFG's, and IWBG's go here.
- Power Level N: Short for none. For non-direct attack weapons.
The List
Here is a full list of the weapons included in the first build of the WRW. We currently have 48 weapons created by 23 people:
Weapon(Creator): Description. Power Level (Listed by order of submission)
- Multi-Projectile Weapon(TheDarkArchon): The projectile this fires out depends on how long you hold down the fire button. The more lights on the weapon that turn red, the more powerful the blast and the more ammo used. One light fires a strong green plasma ball, two lights sends out three slightly-stronger homing yellow plasma balls, and three lights belts out a powerful red blast and a energy shotgun spread. Power Level 4.
- Charged Plasma Bolter(wildweasel): A weapon that, at first, fires a large blast of plasma, but if you continue to hold down the fire button, will shoot out a stream of lighter plasma. Possibly the most effective weapon of the pack against a mixed group of monsters. Power Level 3.
- Insanity Rifle(Kirby): A powerful weapon which fires six deadly red plasma at a time. Useful, but you may want to look out for the combination of its quick rate of fire and usage of 30 cells(!) per shot. Power Level 4.
- Imp Claw(Bouncy): It's an imp claw. What do you expect? Power Level 2.
- Super Imp Claw(Bouncy): Same as above, except with an uberly fast rate of fire. Power Level 3.
- XB-4 Sniper Rifle(killingblair): A sniper rifle that will take out nearly every zombie or imp you face in one shot, and is generally best used against weaker monsters. Power Level 2.
- Fire Wand(HobbsTiger1): Just as the name implies, it is a wand that shoots fire. Using this in close quarters isn't a very good idea, as you could easily end up badly/fatally hurting yourself. Power Level 3.
- Gauntlet(HobbsTiger1): Basically a rip from the one in Hexen. If you don't know what that is then it's a hand wearing a gauntlet. Basically a more powerful version of the fist. Power Level 1.
- Serious Bomb(cutmanmike): A bomb from Serious Sam that takes about three seconds to explode. When it does, it obliterates everything that is in your sight. Power Level 5.
- Vile Staff(cutmanmike): A staff with a demonic face at the top that, as the name specifies, resurrects monsters to fight on your side. The primary fire only revives enemies in front of you, but the secondary fire will cause the face to laugh as dead enemies in a large distance reawaken to fight for you. Power Level N.
- Lightsaber(cutmanmike): If you've seen a Star Wars movie(who hasn't?), you know what this is. Very fun weapon with an alternate fire that blocks projectiles. Power Level 3.
- Demon Hand(wario): A nice-looking red gnarled hand. It fires a large green ball which not only does a significant amount of damage to the target, but also splits into smaller blasts when it comes in contact with something. Power Level 4.
- Molotov Cocktail(Scientist): Another self-explanatory weapon name. As you hold it, the room flashes with the light from the fire. When you throw this at an enemy, fire will erupt out of the broken bottle and burn whatever manages to survive the initial blow, much like one in real life. By the way, you're an idiot if you try using this close-range. Power Level 4.
- COP Derringer(Xaser): At first glance this may seem like just another pistol, but you'll quickly notice it has a big difference from other weapons: you must reload it manually using the secondary fire button. Although it takes a bit to get used to this, it afterwards becomes extremely fun to use. Power Level 2.
- Pipebomb(Xaser): Basically the same thing from Duke Nukem 3D, except you can only throw and detonate one at a time. Very fun, much like the COP Derringer. Power Level 3.
- Trail Gun(Post): The primary fire of this weapon is a powerful, piercing green ray, while the secondary fire is even more deadly and bounces off walls. This will eat up your ammo very quickly, and while it is weak against bosses, it doesn't have any problems against other types of monsters. Power Level 5.
- Freezer(cutmanmike): While it is basically a copy from the Duke Nukem 3D version, like the Pipebomb, this also includes a secondary fire, which is an icy mist that can freeze monsters. Power Level 5.
- Gyro Plasma Burster(TheDarkArchon): A gigantic-looking weapon, this fires a huge green ball which floats lazily forward for several seconds doing absolutely nothing, but then fires quick blasts in a revolving motion. For anyone who has played Diablo II, its behavior is similar to the Frozen Orb. Jak 3 fans will recognise the name and behavior as well. Power Level 5.
- Tazor(HellsBane): As yet another weapon with a self-explanatory, it's a metallic rod which you can use to electrocute your enemies. Power Level 1.
- WalterPPK(NecroMage): It's a pistol with slightly increased damage, but with one difference: it is silenced, and therefore will not alert other monsters nearby. Power Level 1.
- Seeker Missile Launcher(NecroMage): Although it is rather weird-looking, it's a souped-up rocket launcher. Definitely not recommended in close-range situations. Power Level 4.
- Flamethrower(Bouncy): Exactly what the name says: a constant-fire flame gun. It takes care of enemies quickly, but keep your eyes on your ammo at all times; it could be gone very quickly. Power Level 3.
- Flak Cannon(ant1991331): A replica of the Unreal gun, this fires shrapnel which will proceed to fly around everywhere in the room if it doesn't initally make contact with an enemy. Don't expect it to kill everything in one shot as it normally does in Unreal multiplayer, though. Power Level 2.
- BFG 2704(Inuyasha_989): The old version of the BFG 9000 that can be found in Doom alphas has been recreated, although with fancier sprites. An extremely powerful weapon that can kill a cyberdemon in two shots, just like the gun that descended from it. Power Level 5.
- Incendiary Shell Launcher(TheDarkArchon): This gun fires a shell that, when it comes in contact with something, causes a big explosion of flames in a wide area. Be careful not to incinerate yourself. Power Level 5.
- Quake Axe(Wills): Power Level 1.
- Heavy Rifle(ZChronos): Power Level 2.
- BFG 11000(Wario): Power Level 5.
- Half-Life Magnum(Bashe): Power Level 2.
- Automatic Shotgun(TheDarkArchon): Power Level 2.
- Phobos Dust Blower(Marty Razor Kirra): Power Level N.
- Demon Spawner(ChaosCentral): Power Level N.
- Random Projectile Launcher(Inuyasha_989): Power Level 4.
- Burst Shotgun(Inuyasha_989): Power Level 3.
- Blaster Pistol(Inuyasha_989): Power Level 3.
- Land Mines(Inuyasha_989): Power Level 4.
- Necronomicon(Froon): Power Level N.

Additional Credits
These individuals may or may not have made weapons, but have still found a way to help us with the Weapons Resource WAD in one way or another! So, our special thanks go to Nmn for sprites(Charged Plasma Bolter, Imp Claws, Demon Hand, XB-4 Sniper), wildweasel for the Power Level System, ChaosCentral for hosting and his excellent DECORATE weapons guide, Tormentor667 for giving suggestions, Daniel for giving us permission for duplication from ZDGuns, and, of course, Graf Zahl and Grubber for the unofficial version and Randy Heit for ZDoom.
Do something nice to help us and you may find yourself on this list too!
