WildMIDI

WildMIDI is a software synthesizer capable of using a wide variety of GUS patches. It is one of the options offered by ZDoom for MIDI playback.

Setting up WildMIDI

• First, you will need to download a collection of GUS patches.
• Then point the wildmidi_config console variable to the GUS or TiMidity configuration file for these patches.
• Finally, set WildMIDI as the MIDI device in the sound options menu.

Advantages and drawbacks

• Only supports GUS patches, not SF2 soundfonts.
• Better performances than TiMidity++
