DecX is a program which extracts [[DECORATE]] actors from wads into new wads, including all necessary sprites, sounds and code.  As of version 2.0, it has facilities to recolour sprites and a built-in interface for editing [[DECORATE]] definitions complete with a syntax checker and syntax highlighting.

== Features ==

* The ability to recolour sprites as well as save them in either PNG format of Doom's own native format.

* Syntax checking

* Syntax highlighting.

* The ability to "test run" actors.

* An organised way of viewing actor definitions. You can view the whole [[DECORATE]], an actor along with all its supporting actors, or an actor by it self.

* A structured way of seeing all the actors present in a wad by type. For example a projectile or a monster are types.
