Automatic compatibility

ZDoom introduced automatic compatibility with known troublesome maps in version 2.3.0. The following maps are currently identified:

  • Alien Vendetta
MAP07: Find shortest textures like Doom
MAP15: Self ref. sectors don't block shots
MAP25: Use buggier stair building and Ignore Y offsets on masked midtextures
MAP28: Self ref. sectors don't block shots and All special lines can block <use>
MAP19: Limit Pain Elementals' Lost Souls (New from 2.6.1)
MAP26: Crushed monsters can be resurrected and raised ghost monster bug reestablished
MAP03 and MAP25: Find shortest textures like Doom
MAP12: Cannot travel straight NSEW
  • Nuke Mine
E1M2: flawed teleporters disabled (development version r3871+ only)
E1M4: Find shortest textures like Doom
MAP04: All special lines can block <use> (New from 2.6.1)
MAP23: Crushed monsters can be resurrected and ghost monster bug reestablished
MAP02: Find shortest textures like Doom
MAP07: Flag 1 cleared from linedef 1021
MAP13: Invert sprite sorting
MAP31: Find shortest textures like Doom

Note that compatibility options that aren't linked but are described as "bug reestablished" are not, and will not be, available as normal compatibility options. They rely on the engine behaving in a fundamentally broken fashion and should not be used anymore.

Maps that are not linked above were not made specifically for ZDoom.
