Automatic compatibility
From ZDoom Wiki
ZDoom introduced automatic compatibility with known troublesome maps in version 2.3.0. The following maps are currently identified:
- Alien Vendetta
- Astrostein MAP01 to MAP10: Invert sprite sorting
- Astrostein 2 MAP01 to MAP09: Invert sprite sorting
- Astrostein 3 MAP10, MAP13 to MAP15, MAP17 and MAP20: Invert sprite sorting
- Claustrophobia 1024 MAP01: Cannot travel straight NSEW (development version r4122+ only)
- Community Chest MAP29: Enable wall running
- Community Chest 3 MAP03: Sector_CopyScroller effect added to emulate side effects of a Boom bug (development version r3867+ only)
- Daedalus: Alien Defense MAP04 and MAP24: activation method for non-pushable, push-activated lines changed (development version r3864+ only)
- Dark Side of the Mind: Crushed monsters can be resurrected and ghost monster bug reestablished
- Doom E3M4: Monster-activated, single-use Door_Raise changed to Door_Open so that half the level is not randomly blocked off
- Doomsday of UAC: Allow any bossdeath for level special
- Eternal Doom I-II-III:
- MAP25: Use buggier stair building and Ignore Y offsets on masked midtextures
- MAP28: Self ref. sectors don't block shots and All special lines can block <use>
- The Evil Unleashed E3M4: Find shortest textures like Doom
- The Final Gathering MAP05: Crushed monsters can be resurrected and ghost monster bug reestablished
- The Garrison: force node rebuilding (development version r4071+ only)
- Hacx MAP03 and MAP17: All special lines can block <use>
- Happy Time Circus: Teleport tags are ignored to emulate an old ZDoom bug
- Hell Revealed:
- MAP19: Limit Pain Elementals' Lost Souls (New from 2.6.1)
- MAP26: Crushed monsters can be resurrected and raised ghost monster bug reestablished
- Hell to Pay MAP14 and MAP22: Crushed monsters can be resurrected and ghost monster bug reestablished
- Hexen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel MAP54: activation method for non-crossable, cross-activated lines changed
- Icarus: Alien Vanguard MAP24: Crushed monsters can be resurrected and ghost monster bug reestablished
- Khorus MAP08: kludge for a voodoo doll on conveyor belt (development version r3965+ only)
- Massmouth 2: Player speed reset bug and slope overflow bug reestablished
- Memento Mori MAP29: Find shortest textures like Doom
- Memento Mori 2
- MAP03 and MAP25: Find shortest textures like Doom
- MAP12: Cannot travel straight NSEW
- Nuke Mine
- E1M2: flawed teleporters disabled (development version r3871+ only)
- E1M4: Find shortest textures like Doom
- Phobos MAP03: Use Doom's floor motion behavior
- Plutonia 2 MAP32: Crushed monsters can be resurrected and ghost monster bug reestablished
- Real World MAP11: Self ref. sectors don't block shots
- Requiem:
- MAP04: All special lines can block <use> (New from 2.6.1)
- MAP23: Crushed monsters can be resurrected and ghost monster bug reestablished
- Reverie MAP18: Crushed monsters can be resurrected and ghost monster bug reestablished
- Strain:
- MAP02: Find shortest textures like Doom
- MAP07: Flag 1 cleared from linedef 1021
- MAP13: Invert sprite sorting
- MAP31: Find shortest textures like Doom
- Slaughter Until Death E2M6: Find shortest textures like Doom
- Suspended in Dusk MAP01: Sector sounds use center as source
- UAC Ultra MAP07: Sector_CopyScroller effect added to emulate side effects of a Boom bug
- Void: Slope overflow bug reestablished, and some pillars slightly squashed (development version r4038+ only)
- The Waterfront: Crushed monsters can be resurrected and ghost monster bug reestablished
Note that compatibility options that aren't linked but are described as "bug reestablished" are not, and will not be, available as normal compatibility options. They rely on the engine behaving in a fundamentally broken fashion and should not be used anymore.
Maps that are not linked above were not made specifically for ZDoom.
